Are VPN’s Legal?
We are often asked if using VPN’s are legal and in the main, yes they are perfectly legal and are a great tool to stay safe online.

Always remember if you use a VPN to break the law, you are breaking the law- it is that simple.

Countries where VPN’s are banned include:

China: Whilst VPN operators can access licenses to operate in China, the restrictions make them useless.

Iraq: In an effort to stop terrorism, VPN’s are banned.

UAE: Using a VPN in the United Arab Emirates (Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah, Sharjah and Umm Al Quwain) is illegal and comes with heavy fines for usage in an effort to stop VOIP calls due to the high cost of telecommunications in the region.

Turkey: To stop free thought and knowledge, VPN’s are banned in the country.

Belarus: To stop free thought and knowledge, VPN’s are banned in the country.

Oman: The country heavily sensors all media including the VPN making VPN’s strictly banned.

Iran: The law of the country states that only licensed providers can offer VPN services, with huge restrictions that negates any benefit of using one.

Russia: To stop free thought and knowledge, VPN’s are banned in the country.
